Defending the rights of individuals navigating the criminal justice system is the sole reason Mr. Hancock pursued a career as an attorney.
Throughout his education, Seth worked to gain and refine the skills that are necessary in being an effective advocate for those charged with, or convicted of, committing crimes. During his undergraduate years at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where he graduated with a degree in English with high honors, Seth interned with one of the top criminal defense attorneys in San Bernardino County, David Goldstein. Those early experiences formed the foundation of Seth’s pursuits in the criminal justice system.
Seth attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he specialized in the study of criminal justice. While at Loyola, he was a member of the Juvenile Innocence and Fair Sentencing Clinic. In that capacity, he represented individuals challenging wrongful convictions and individuals who were convicted of serious crimes as juveniles. With a team of experienced post- conviction attorneys and other law students he successfully argued for a client originally sentenced to life without the possibility of parole at 16 years old to be resentenced to a term of 33 years to life, thereby allowing the client to have a chance at parole during his 25th of incarceration under California's Senate Bill 260. Seth also successfully represented a client at a youth offender parole hearing pursuant to Senate Bill 260. That client, originally sentenced to life without the possibility of parole, was found suitable for parole and has since been released from state prison.
In addition to his post- conviction experience, Mr. Hancock has also made every effort to gain experience defending criminal defendants at the pre-trial and trial levels by clerking in multiple Public Defenders' offices, including such offices in Los Angeles County, Ventura County, and Alameda County.
Since becoming an associate at Ahrony, Graham, and Zucker LLP., Attorney Seth Hancock has represented individuals on direct appeal, on habeas corpus, and in parole matters. Over the years, Seth’s passion for criminal defense has only grown stronger and he takes pride in attacking each case with deliberateness and dedication.
